just like Squirmy. When he hears the water running, he wants to be IN the bathroom. If the bathwater belongs to someone else, he wants a part in it. When it’s his turn for a bath he waits at the edge of the tub drooling, beside himself with anticipation to get into the water. He loves bathtub toys. He loves washcloths. He really loves splashing, and splashing, and splashing. A bath makes him a happy, happy boy. Getting out of the bathtub does not make him happy in any way. Getting out of the bathtub is trauma in catastrophic proportions. It is met with wailing and flailing and much mayhem.

Squirmy is getting to the age where he is starting to have ideas of his own, and knows what he wants. When he doesn’t get what he wants he is pretty vocal about that.

In addition to loving the bathtub, it has become evident that Squirmy really, really likes the taste of ice cream. Ice cream makes him break out into an enormous grin, even though he only gets one drop at a time on his tongue. Ice cream is bliss. Ice cream is paradise. Squirmy will find his way to whoever happens to have the ice cream.

Late last week Squirmy managed to eat an eraser, the kind that you purchase to put on top of your pencil when the regular eraser wears out. I only know that Squirmy ate the eraser because I found it smack in the middle of the poop in his diaper. To be truthful, I’m just happy he didn’t choke on it. Obviously the eraser made it just fine through his digestive system. It kind of makes me wonder what else is hanging out in his poor intestines. And everyone has been working SO hard to keep things off the floor, too!

Wherever Squirmy goes, he goes there fast. As one mom at church put it last Wednesday, “He might as well as be running already.” He has one of the fastest crawls I’ve ever seen, and he spends all of his time making sure he’s in the middle of whatever kind of commotion he can find. If commotion isn’t involved, then he really isn’t all that interested in it.

He’s the pickiest eater I’ve ever met. He’s even more picky than me.

He loves cuddling up with a blanket. It doesn’t matter which blanket, but he likes a blanket next to his face, and when he’s asleep, he likes the blanket over his head, just like his big
