{"id":2549,"date":"2011-06-03T21:53:27","date_gmt":"2011-06-04T02:53:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.superrachelzana.com\/blog\/?p=2549"},"modified":"2011-06-03T21:53:27","modified_gmt":"2011-06-04T02:53:27","slug":"giving-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/superrachelzana.com\/?p=2549","title":{"rendered":"Giving In"},"content":{"rendered":"<body><p><\/p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2548\" title=\"droolfacestamp\" src=\"https:\/\/superrachelzana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/droolfacestamp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/superrachelzana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/droolfacestamp.jpg 900w, https:\/\/superrachelzana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/droolfacestamp-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/>\n<p>These days there\u2019s almost always a string of drool hanging down from Squirmy\u2019s chin. \u00a0Although it makes snuggles and kisses a bit slobbery for my personal taste, I know that someday soon all that drool will disappear and then I\u2019ll miss having a drooling baby, so I embrace it each day.<\/p>\n<p>There are two looks Squirmy gives me that pretty much render me helpless and make me give him whatever he wants. \u00a0One look his is signature bright eyed smile. \u00a0The other is this puppy dog drool face. \u00a0When he looks at me like this I pretty much cannot help but to scoop him up and give him pretty much whatever makes him happy. \u00a0It\u2019s far more effective than whining or crying. \u00a0He knows this and uses it frequently.<\/p>\n<p>He might be a scrawny, lanky thing, but let me tell you, he gets around FAST, amazingly fast. \u00a0He\u2019s also very strong. \u00a0Two days ago \u00a0I was holding him and he somehow managed to propel himself right out of my arms and do a dive for the floor. \u00a0Luckily I caught him by the ankle upside down at the very last second. \u00a0He was literally inches from landing on his head. \u00a0Things just happen to this baby. \u00a0It\u2019s crazy: \u00a0meconium in the amniotic fluid when he was born (thankfully it didn\u2019t get in his lungs), an infected finger when he was just barely home from the hospital, reflux, colic, \u00a0a hair wrapped around his toe that almost caused some major damage because it was cutting off the circulation, the major choking incident, and now almost getting dropped. \u00a0Yikes. \u00a0He\u2019s kind of a catastrophe. \u00a0But a cute catastrophe.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These days there\u2019s almost always a string of drool hanging down from Squirmy\u2019s chin. \u00a0Although it makes snuggles and kisses a bit slobbery for my personal taste, I know that someday soon all that drool will disappear and then I\u2019ll miss having a drooling baby, so I embrace it each day.
