The people who lived in our house before we bought it really, really loved day lillies.  We have oodles and oodles of them off the side of our house,  practically a field of daylillies, and the first ones are opening today.  

On warm summer afternoons, slurping frozen orange juice on a stick is the snack of choice around here.  I just freeze regular old orange juice in plastic popsicle molds ahead of time, and voila!  Happiness galore upon rising from afternoon naps.  I remember my grandmother coloring water with food coloring…
