First Day of School

He’s a kindergartener!  And he’s thrilled about it, along with his new green backpack and his lunch box and gym shoes.

YaYa ran out the door right as I was taking pictures before we headed down to the elementary bus stop and jumped in a couple of pictures.  They were pretending to be superheroes.

The Banana has entered fourth grade.

They were headed to the corner to wait for the bus.

An hour later I summoned the middle schooler for a picture before he headed to his bus.  YaYa decided she would take pictures then too, so that I didn’t embarrass her before her bus.  The middle school bus comes about 25 minutes before the high school bus, and she did not want me outside in the yard since the high school bus stops right next to our house.

Right before I took this picture I realized I was too close to get both of them in the same frame with the lens I had chosen, so I backed up.  Somehow I backed up right into a ladder on the ground and fell over backwards right on my behind, which was completely hilarious.  Apparently I screeched a bit as I was going down, which caused the resident high schooler to flee into the house for about 5 minutes because she was embarrassed and worried the neighbors saw me out the window.  Mr. SP and I could not stop laughing hysterically at the fact that I was trapped on the ground mixed up in a ladder.

We coaxed YaYa out for just a bit to take her own picture along with a lovely leprechaun leaping picture, because who doesn’t like leaping like a leprechaun?
