A Dramatic Morning

Guess who has begun a MAJOR, fast paced growth spurt?  Guess who inherited his father’s teenage hypoglycemic tendencies?  Guess who passed out in the middle of church this morning because he ran out of time to have breakfast?

Mmmmmhmmmmm.

I was standing next to him, singing, when all of the sudden he started leaning on me.  It had been one of those mornings, and I wasn’t very cheery.  “What are you DOING?  Stand up!” I grouched, and grabbed his shoulder and stood him back up, and then I noticed that he was wobbling and grey and pasty.  I asked him if he was sick,  and sure enough, a half second later he was collapsing onto the pew and substantially out of it.  Thankfully by the time he ended up horizontal (it’s nice that the church has cushioned pews, by the way) he was pretty much conscious.  Dr. Peds found him a cookie and some lemonade, and that helped.  By the end of the service he was tired and woozy, but after having a few more cookies and 2 glasses of lemonade in Sunday School, he was zipping about with a great deal of perky energy.

I don’t think he will be skipping breakfast anytime soon.

Sorry to say I gave this distressing condition to my son. More than one way to be sure you eat breakfast.
