My Most Favorite Christmas Present EVER!

I realize that it is now the middle of January, but I couldn’t resist sharing the most amazing and hilarious Christmas gift I’ve ever received in my whole entire life.

My third kidlet, The Banana?  She’s a really funny kid.  She has a terrific sense of humor.  When she was a preschooler she wanted to be by my side all the time doing whatever I was doing, and she didn’t really go off on her own to look at books or to draw or write by herself.  But it turns out that the third kidlet, The Banana, loves to write, and she’s really good at it.

When I opened this book up on Christmas morning I laughed so hard I cried.  I snorted.  I stopped breathing I was laughing so hard.  Tears were streaming down my face.  My stomach hasn’t hurt so much from laughing for years.  Years.  This book is so perfect, and so very, very funny.  It is full of perfect details that I think her teacher completely missed.

For example, note the publisher:  “There’s an Apple in the Fridge Incorporated.”  At least five times a day I tell this girl and her siblings “There’s an apple in the fridge” when they ask me what they can eat.

Also note my Mom Uniform, a brown International Music Camp Sweatshirt.

Check out the expressions on the illustrated Hannah’s face.  I love how she pops into the corner on page 5 and 10.

I think The Banana artfully captured the perseverance of my continued (and somewhat fruitless) effort to match pitch on the cello.  Despite the fact that numerous people who reside in my house might potentially feel relieved if they just didn’t have to hear the cello any more, I actually have no intention of going back to playing with a yo-yo!
