What I Learned in September
This September may have been my busiest September in existence, and honestly, my brain feels somewhat toasted.
- I learned how to use the iPad to scan documents.
- On my cello I began learning the prelude to the unaccompanied Bach cello suites. It’s a big deal. It will be a big project, probably one that I will be working on for the rest of my life.
- At the piano I two lovely, short preludes: a Chopin prelude in A flat major and Prelude No. 1 by Pedro Lerma. I made some important progress on some bigger projects as well.
- I’ll be writing more about it soon, but Mr. Trouble on Feet has started to learn to play the viola, something he has been begging to do for a long time. What I learned from observing his first few lessons and helping him practice at home is that understand the basics about a music instrument from the start can be so helpful. If you can create good habits right away it is so much easier later, rather than trying to fix issues that have become bad habits.
