  • Currently we are in the middle of the second snow event for the week. The third snow event for the week is schedule to begin tomorrow night. This time of year it becomes difficult to remain patient with the weather! However, I’m reminding myself that a ridiculously slow spring is the price we pay for those glorious perfect summer days that are on their way, when the rest of the country is scorching hot and miserable.
  • Despite the snow storms, we are technically on spring break from school this week. I’ve been enjoying slow mornings and sleeping in until 7:00. I’ve been teaching afternoon lessons for some students who are not traveling, but there have been lots of little breaks through the day, which has made my days less intense. Mr. TOF traveled on Monday and Tuesday to the south part of the state to play baseball on real grass fields that are not covered in snow, and he had a splendid time.
  • Peanut Maximus has learned how to dress himself, and he’s currently been changing clothes at least three times a day.
  • I am currently addicted to the Wordle in the New York Times. I am ordinarily not a game player or a person who likes puzzles, even word puzzles, but Mr. TOF got me hooked when we traveled to California, and now I sneak the Wordle in almost every day! I’ve almost always solved it, but Mr. TOF and The Banana have completely different methods when they play, and they usually solve it faster, but sometimes using more guesses. I’m a slow Wordle player. It drives them crazy how I sit and stare at the screen and try different word combinations instead of making guesses more quickly. Sometimes they come out ahead. Sometimes I come out ahead. The Wordle Bot analysis seems to like how I solve the puzzle most days. I told that to the Devious Snail on a Facetime call, and he started laughing. “You do realize the Wordle Bot has a whole dictionary at his instant fingertips, right?” I said, “My mind is practically a dictionary! It just moves slowly!”
  • Currently Peanut Maximus calls me “Mother!” about two hundred and fifty seven times a day. Not “Mom,” not “Mommie,” not even “Mama” which I prefer most. It’s “Mother!” all day long. I think he heard Mr. TOF call me mother, which he does when he’s annoyed with me (so about half the time!) and it just stuck.
