When 5:00 just gets to be too much . . .

He gets up early, and he’s often not interested in sleeping during rest time. This means that things get pretty tricky about 5:00 each day. Sometimes that means a meltdown. Sometimes it means he falls dead asleep in the car when we drive to get Isaiah from baseball or swim practice because the car seat has made him sit still. Sometimes that means moving as fast as he can in every direction to keep himself awake. Last Tuesday it meant he fell asleep right in the middle of a book the babysitter was reading while I was teaching. She patiently waited until I finished my lesson, and when I extracted her from underneath him, and he didn’t even wake up.
