Mr. TOF passed his permit test and is learning to drive! It makes for exciting times in the passenger seat.
High school baseball is wrapping up, but summer baseball is ramping up. Mr. TOF is busy, and Peanut Maximus is busy pretending to do all the things with his imaginary baseball team.
The Banana and two friends are preparing for a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters for the next few days, which means that camping supplies are strewn about the house in a chaotic frenzy. I’m excited for them to have an adventure!
After weeks and weeks and weeks of temperatures in the 40’s or maybe 50’s, all of the sudden this week it has been warm, and just like that, there are leaves everywhere, and blossoming trees! What a change from a week ago!
I’ve been planting my container garden. Last Monday The Banana and I spent the morning shopping at greenhouses for all kinds of wonderful plants.
This past week was the last week of school year piano lessons for my students, and we are about to enter summer mode! I love teaching so much, and I also love the extra margin that summer brings with fewer students. It means more practicing for me, and I’m also hoping to do some pedagogical reading this summer.
Speaking of summer, I mentioned that The Banana has arrived home for summer break, but Mr. TOF is also so, so ready to be done with the school year. He’s looking forward to rowing, and more baseball of course.
Peanut Maximus and I have been having fun reading some great library books.
I’m thinking about setting up the aquarium that has been in storage in our attic for the last decade and getting some goldfish. I love goldfish, and I would like to use that nitrate rich fish water for my houseplants. Plus, I think Peanut Maximus would really enjoy having fish.
I’ve been in a bit of a rut with my camera, and I’m looking forward to remedying that soon. Summer weather, extra daylight, and a less intense schedule always helps with that.
