The Banana Runs

The Banana ran the local half marathon last Saturday for the third year in a row. She wasn’t able to do a lot of running before the marathon, but she had been rowing and swimming, and in the end, running went just fine! She had a great time, and only came out with a few blisters and legs that were slightly sore, but not too bad.
Dr. Peds and Mr. TOF were away playing baseball, so it was just Peanut Maximus and I that headed down to watch near the school. We got there later than we had in past years, which meant that parking was so, so terrible, but we did not miss The Banana, thankfully, and we were even able to deliver her headphones to her, since he had forgotten them when she departed before sunrise. Now we know to just get there really early like we did in years past before to avoid driving issues!
Peanut Maximus was having such a good time ringing his cowbell that we stayed to watch the wheelchair racers (they are always my favorite) and the elite men and women running. Peanut Maximus wanted to stay longer, but we had already been there a really long time. It was a long walk back to the car with a very, very unhappy certain three year old, but we made it, and we’ll just forget about the temper tantrums involved.
