Peanut Maximus: Four

Peanut Maximus had been highly anticipating his birthday for weeks, and the day finally arrived! There were donuts in the bathtub before church, and when we got home from church there were presents. He was very excited about the presents. Best of all, The Devious Snail happened to be visiting on his birthday, so three out of four big siblings were invested in the day.
Peanut Maximus requested that Mr. TOF make pancakes for lunch and that Dr. Peds make ravioli with white sauce for supper. He spent the afternoon playing toys and using the bubble sword wand that Grandma Kathy gifted him.
After a slightly early evening meal, we loaded everyone in the van and headed to the sandy beach, since it was Sunday night, and of course Peanut Maximus picked sand! The Banana met us there after she was finished with work. (Stay tuned for birthday beach pictures). The weather was gorgeous at the beach, and of course sand was everywhere because this little guy was in and out of the water at least a hundred times!
When we got back home Dr. Peds helped Peanut Maximus with a bathtub rinse to wash away the sand, and we pulled the ice cream cake out of the freezer and poked four candles in the top. Peanut Maximus had been looking forward to his cake for weeks and he had a silly little smirk when everyone started singing crazy, but it quickly turned to horror when he realized that this didn’t sound good at all (the little guy happens to be pitch sensitive, and he was not a fan of a boisterous out of tune ensemble). Then the cake arrived in front of him and he did not appreciate the candles getting so close! There were tears and tears, and while Dr. Peds comforted him, the candles on the cake burned down to nubs. Eventually we moved the cake across the table and he took a deep breath and agreed that his siblings should blow them out , which they quickly did. The cake was delicious, though, and he loved it even if he decided he was not a fan of the birthday song or candles.
