These pictures LOOK like they could have been taken last July.  But they weren't!  Today we woke up and the temperature at sunrise was 42 degrees, higher than our daytime high has been for weeks.  By eleven in the morning the temperature was 68 degrees, and it held for the rest of the day.  68 degrees is some serious summer weather in our neck of the woods, so even though we still had several snowdrifts in our backyard, we were out in full force with bare feet for most of the day.  We brought out the patio furniture and had lunch outside.  The kidlets rode bikes all afternoon, and made a pirate ship out of lawn chairs.  They turned their wagon into a bus and drew bus stops at various points on the driveway.  We visited our friends on top of the hill and played on their outdoor playset.  It was a frenzy of outdoor activity.

When Dr. Peds drove up at 5:30, they pounced on him and begged for a trip to the rocky beach.  Before we knew it, they had changed into their new Easter swimsuits and were buckling each other into their carseats.

There were icebergs floating on Lake Superior.

That really didn't slow Mr. Sneaky Pants and Sarah down at all.  The Banana was a bit more wise to the water that felt colder than ice water you might be served in a restaurant.  The elder kidlets were out wading, and climbing around as if it really were July.  We told them they could have ice cream if they walked out to a knee deep rock.  No problem.  Mr. Sneaky Pants was out their pumping his arms up in victory in no time at all.  He even stuck his belly in and got his hair a bit wet in hopes of a double portion of ice cream.

Crazy kids.
