After playing in the mud all day long, all three kidlets were really quite dirty, so at sundown it was time for a hosedown outside and a long luxurious bath inside.

Much time was spent tackling, tickling and loving all kinds of family members.

We took Great Grandma Edna out for some time in the park. She even climbed into a spinning saucer with all three kids, which I consider quite adventurous for someone one month shy of 84 years old. (Unfortunately I missed the picture of that). When we drove her back to her apartment she started to teach me to crochet, something I am determined to learn how to do even though I usually end up with a tangled mess of yarn. It’s a bit intimidating to me because string is a little like fabric . . . but it doesn’t make me queasy like sewing does.

The Banana took a great liking to Auntie Jennifer and to Gramma Kathy. She liked the cows, too. And Auntie Dot’s puppy Jana, which she calls “Hi” because everyone always yells, “Hi Jana!” at the dog. She’s been on the lookout for dogs ever since we’ve gotten home. The Banana yells, “Hi! Hi! Hi! and chases them down the street.

We visited Great Grandma Jan, were everyone got to choose special farmer caps (which are still being worn daily) and Sarah got to create a picture on a real artist’s canvas (very important stuff). Hannah did a little pencil drawing at the table too.
