Conversations: Workers
Two big pine trees in our yard fell down in a windstorm early this morning. Thankfully they did not land on our house. They were, however, blocking the street on the side of our house, so right as the kidlets were in the process of leaving for school, there were Minnesota Power trucks assessing damage to power lines, police cars setting up blockades across the street, and and a public works crew right out our window. There were cherry picker trucks, tree grabber trucks, a tree grinder truck, and a couple of chainsaws. It was the epitome of entertainment for a five year old boy.
Mr. TOF: Mom, I LOVE watching them clean up trees! But I don’t think I would like to be a tree clean-up worker guy.
Dr. Peds: Well, why not? It looks kind of fun.
Mr. TOF: It looks kind of like a lot of really hard work.
Dr. Peds: Well, it is hard work. Don’t you like to be a hard worker guy?
Mr. TOF: Nope. I like easy work better. But I do like watching them work hard.
