Relaxing
After arriving home from Chicago, I was all set for a super productive week. I haven’t seen my students for a bit, and I was ready to jump into teaching and catching up on a huge pile of computer work (is it still a pile if it’s a digital pile? I think so.) But, keeping in style with nearly every time we’ve hosted a child in the winter, the week following our arrival back from the airport was a sticky one. In previous years we’ve had head lice, a child with a concussion, and other such catastrophes to deal with. This year there has been a stomach flu making its way through the house, and my week was simply not what I thought it would be.
That’s OK. This is a new week! Things are already looking brighter, and everyone is feeling a bit better. Plus, we were blessed with a four day weekend that allowed us to rest and recuperate in big ways. It’s been cold, so we’ve been inside reading, playing, practicing, and catching up on things that needed to happen. The Banana has also made some amazing jewelry out of seagrass this weekend. She’s a whizz with her dad’s drill.
