Blog List
Ever since blogging started, I’ve enjoyed reading blogs. There is just something special about getting to know someone you might know a little bit already, or getting to know a complete stranger through words and pictures. Of course, I’ve loved writing a blog for many years as well! Other forms of social media just aren’t quite the same, and over the years I’ve come to really love the fact that I have complete control over what is on my blog and how it appears. I love the ability to have short posts as well as long posts with lots of pictures. I love writing as much as I want to document a story, or perhaps just posting a single picture with a title.
In those days when blogging was really popular, many blogs had sidebars with lists of their favorite blogs to read, and through exploring you could discover all sorts of new blogs to follow and read. It’s rare to find a blog designed that way now. In fact, finding new blogs to follow can sort of feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. It seems that so many people who have blogged for years gradually just . . . stop. They move over to posting pictures and longer captions on instagram and stop telling stories on their blogs. It works for them, but I’m always sad when my favorite bloggers stop blogging. Instagram is nice, and I post there from time to time, but I really prefer writing on my blog and I really love reading other people’s blogs so much more than I enjoy squiniting at tiny pictures and text on the screen of my iPod touch. (I’m not a cell phone user).
So, in honor of my love of blogging, I’m going to share a list of some blogs I find interesting and have writers who post frequently. Perhaps you will enjoy exploring! (I’m always excited to run across a blog post that includes links to new blogs to read). My favorite kinds of blogs are places where writers express themselves in both words and photography, and although I do read “blogs with a purpose,” my very favorite blogs are really just ordinary people who document their everyday life.
- Minding My Nest
- Under the Sycamore
- This is Life
- Celebrate Life
- Modern Mrs. Darcy
- Coffee and Crumbs
- Little Earthling
- Clickin Moms Daily Project
I have lots of other great blogs that I check less frequently as well, whose authors post more sporadically.
If you have any blogs that you read regularly that I should explore, or perhaps you even write a blog yourself, please let me know in the comments!

I am glad you blog. Even though we have never met in person I know we would get along. Thanks for letting me peek into your life. Your pictures are very enjoyable and calm. I am not a weird stalker just a mom of two, wife, ex-librarian, and someone who enjoys reading blogs. I first came onto yours from Sara Dudley’s who worked with my husband who I think you are related to somehow.
