The Last Baseball Game of the Season
Baseball has been over for Mr. TOF for a couple of weeks now, but I’m pretty behind around here! Loosing their playoff game by one point after an extremely intense game that went into extra innings made for a tough day, but learning to deal with not winning is part of the deal, I’m afraid. What was great was how kind, patient and calm the coaches from our team stayed throughout the whole game, and how much comfort they gave these kids when they came out of the dugout with a lot of big silent tears.
Mr. TOF came in as a relief pitcher for the last couple of innings, and he had a great pitching day. He loved baseball so much this year. He analyzed games, made up plays in his mind and on paper, and spent almost every afternoon of just about every day out in the front yard practicing pitching, catching, and other skills. I’m sure it will be the highlight of his summer (even though soccer has started and he loves that too, of course).
