First Day of School–A Week Late
So, I was behind before my unintended blog vacation, and now I’m really behind! Our first day of school was last Tuesday. It was a chilly, rainy morning. Mr. Trouble on Feet is our resident third grader.
The Banana had just gotten up right as Mr. Trouble on Feet was heading to the bus. At least I’m still allowed at the elementary bus stop on the first day. The big kidlets don’t allow it, of course. Both last year and this year Mr. Trouble on Feet is the only kid at his stop. The stops before and after him have several kids, but he’s a lonesome guy on the sidewalk. It’s so weird, because when the big kids were in elementary school our stop had a lot of kids!
Not quite an hour later the big kids were off. The Banana was headed to seventh grade at the middle school. The Devious Snail was off to his first year at high school in a new-to-him building.
This year YaYa is taking a mixture of classes at the university through PSEO, some online classes through the high school, and then just a couple of classes actually at the school building. This means she has a weird schedule. She actually did not have morning classes at the university on the first day of school, so she was just crawling out of bed when the other kids were leaving for school.
Everyone is settling in well to the new routine.
