Learned in October

  • Putting a warm rice bag under my coat makes me feel so cozy while I’m sitting in the car waiting for the resident oboist at her Wednesday afternoon lesson.
  • I learned that I do not know how to successfully navigate music stand extenders after last Wednesday’s violin/viola/harp recital when I walked up to get The Banana’s stand ready for her long violin piece that she was using music for, and the extender extended right off the stand! Then I couldn’t figure out how to get it back ON the stand, while everyone was watching. Gracious! Eventually I did get everything to stick up on the stand so she could see all the notes, but it was not optimal, and the whole experience was a bit embarrassing.
  • This month, I learned some new ways to break down counting for my music students.
  • I learned two small and one not so small piece on the cello this month.
  • Leaving pumpkin purchases until the day of Halloween is not a good idea.
