We were blessed with so many apples this fall, and I’ve been loving applesauce.
My husband bought a new knife (with a purple handle!) that has proven to be the perfect knife for cutting hundreds and hundreds of apples.
It’s also a great season for pears! A perfectly ripe pear can bring happiness to the middle of a grey, bleak day.
A few weeks ago I bought a mustard/gold cardigan, and I’ve just really been enjoying wearing it. Most of my cardigans are black, brown, grey, burgundy, or maybe grey, so this yellow cardigan is like a sunbeam inserted into my teaching wardrobe. (When I’m not teaching you can find me in my usual “Mom” uniform of a hoodie sweatshirt and comfy knit pants.)
Rice bags under my coat! I know I’ve mentioned them recently. Really, they’ve made the transition to chillier and chillier temperatures so much more bearable for me this season. Every once in a while Mr. Trouble on Feet randomly brings me a warm rice bag and snuggles it right on my neck to say that he loves me, and I love that too! (The other day he even made me THREE rice bags when I was done teaching!)
Over the course of the summer I increased the houseplant population in our residence, and I have been enjoying the extra bits of green as the scenery outside has turned brown and grey.
