In Concert
OK, so over the past two weeks I may have fallen into a gigantic hole of frantic trips to to post office, rehearsals, countless hours of taxiing kidlets around to activities, and oh so many recitals and concerts and more concerts, but I’m back now!
Mr. Trouble on Feet was so excited for his first concert with the Lake Superior Youth Chorus. He’s a chorister this year, and he is so proud of that uniform! In fact, in the choir lookbook, a booklet that is given to all audience members when they arrive for the concert containing pictures and biographies of all the singers, his biography is centered on how much he loves his choir uniform. He is a boy who likes to look sharp. His favorite part is probably the bow tie.
Mr. TOF was especially looking forward to being the boat that came across the stage for one of the pieces the choristers sang. In our family, if you have a solo in a concert, that is reason to stop at the grocery store on the way home and pick out a carton of ice cream to share with siblings. (There are a lot of oboe solos in orchestra and band pieces . . . just saying). Mr. TOF was so thrilled to be the person in charge of bringing home the ice cream for this concert, because not only did he walk across the stage as a boat, he also loudly proclaimed with his voice, “HAVE YOU SEEN A WHITE WHALE?” in the middle of the song. He picked caramel moose track ice cream.
The Banana has been loving Lake Superior Youth Chorus for four years now, and sings in Cantemus. Her choir sounded amazing. Dr. Peds, YaYa, The Devious Snail and I really enjoyed being in the audience.
