Documenting the Plow Grade
A picture really doesn’t do justice to the tall plow grades on every street this winter. Because we got so much snow all at once at the beginning of winter, the sides of the streets have been full of snow piles for weeks and weeks. The snow was rained on at one point, which has turned it into a completely solid wall, and every time it snows, the banks grow taller, and taller, and because the plow can’t push the snow much higher, they also grow wider and wider, to the point of making the streets very narrow places that only one car can pass through at a time, so we all just try to take turns. On every corner you have to guess whether a car is coming or not, because you can’t see into the intersection. Sometimes you go, and hope for the best! In many places the sidewalks are buried by the plow grade, so pedestrians are navigating the crazy streets as well. It makes for craziness, but would a winter really feel like winter without snow?
