Sunday Night at the Beach: The Chalk Edition

The weather was good on Sunday evening, so we headed to the beach after supper. The kidlets brought sidewalk chalk and a spade to dig through rocks. The spade wasn’t actually used very much, but they left the beach more artistic than they found it. I didn’t mind because I knew the rain was going to wash it all away in the next day.

The Banana spent most of her time leaving messages on the road for her good friend who always walks her dog at the beach in the morning. I told her someday her grandchildren will ask her, “Grandma, how did you communicate during the Coronavirus?” And she’ll tell them all about making her mother drive her to the beach so she could write chalk messages to her friend.

Even though it was a nice day, it was pretty chilly at the beach with a strong east wind blowing off the water, so I nestled down behind a big boulder that was blocking the wind and stayed there with the hood of my winter coat up.
