Cap and Gown
High School graduation in our area is virtual this year. Two weeks ago or so the senior class signed up for time slots to come into the school building to have their photograph taken while they walked across the stage and were handed the folder for their diploma (real diplomas come through the mail later). Each student was allowed to bring four people from their household, but we cheated and brought five. (How could you leave a sibling out?).
It was of course a bit of chaos getting everyone out of the house and in the car to drive to the school, since no one other than Dr. Peds had left for weeks on end, and this involved a bit of moderate dressing up. I may have been grouchy by the time we were in the car, but we did make it ever so slightly on time, by the skin of our teeth.
YaYa walked across the stage, had her photo taken along with our family picture taken, and then headed to the lobby of the school, where they were filming the tassel flip to be compiled into the virtual graduation ceremony (coming next week).
After all of that, Mr. TOF was ready to try out the hat, check out the diploma and mimic some great graduation poses.
It was super sunny and windy outside that morning. After piling back into the car, we decided to get some takeout food and eat it to celebrate.
Last night was the scheduled date of graduation before it was unscheduled, and the weather was beautiful, so I convinced YaYa to let me take some cap and gown pictures by the lilac bush.
It wasn’t long before she was joined by siblings.
For the record, Mr. TOF has been having the BEST time with that hat over the past few weeks.

YaYa you looked very happy. I think I had that big of smile on my graduation day also. So excited to watch your graduation next week. It is interesting how schools are doing their virtual graduations so different. So glad they are still making it a big deal because it is.

Congratulations to YaYa. I am sorry she can’t have the regular graduation but this is one crazy year. Tell her we are thinking of her and congratulate her.
