Montana Friends

We were incredibly blessed that our good friends from residency in Wisconsin who now live in Montana could come and visit us in the middle of the week.  They were in Minnesota for a wedding, and were able to make time to come up and spend the night on Wednesday and part of the day on Thursday with us.  We had such a good time visiting with them and playing with their trio of kids.  The youngest was just a baby, the same age as Squirmy is now, the last time  they were here.  Now he’s almost one, and is crawling all around.  He was especially enthralled with the staircase.  He has beautiful light blue eyes that sparkle and the most adorable dimple just like his biggest sister, who I knew when she was a baby and who came to my music class when she was his age.

Despite it getting a bit crazy with school drop offs and pick ups, we found time to get down to the rocky beach, where the dads of the two families did some kayaking even though the waves were a bit choppy.  Thankfully no one dipped into Lake Superior.  All the kids, with the exception of Ya Ya, who was in school all day, had a great time playing on the rocks, followed by a fun lunch at our favorite Norwegian restaurant.

It was especially fun to see Mr. Sneaky Pants so excited to play with his very first friend ever, Loree.  They always got along so nicely as toddlers, and they had such a good time playing together at the beach and riding next to each other in the back of the minivan.  It was super sweet.
