A Strange Halloween
We didn’t trick or treat, because it isn’t recommended in our area, and really, that was fine. In the afternoon all three kidlets at home carved pumpkins. In the end we decided to keep the pumpkins inside rather than put them on the porch because it just worked out better. After dinner we ate pumpkin chocolate chip bread and called YaYa at college in the middle of a heated Rummikub game. I was not playing Rummikub. I was reading a book.
The Banana did dress up in the late afternoon, though! She quickly pulled together a terrific mad scientist costume, and went on a walk around the neighborhood with her good friend. These two are actually always putting on costumes and going on neighborhood walks just to see the reactions of the people they pass by, so of course they were not going to let an opportunity like Halloween pass by for a costumed walk.
Our super sweet neighbor brought over some cookies to treat us since they were not handing out candy and we were not trick or treating this year.
The kidlets watched a not-so-scary-spooky movie, and I fell asleep while Dr. Peds read a book. It was really just a cozy night inside while the cold wind howled all night outside.
