The super cheap plastic colander that we got at a thrift store after we got married disintegrated, and I mentioned to Dr. Peds that I might like a metal colander to replace it. He picked out this one, and I love it. I always love cooking noodles, but this makes it even more enjoyable. Of course it does a great job draining vegetables as well. I use my colander every day, sometimes multiple times.
I have a new comfortable office chair that is making working at my computer much more pleasant.
A few weeks ago I discovered Poetry Unbound podcast. I am seriously hooked. The narrator’s voice is so calm and lovely to listen to. I love the poems that are chosen, and I really have been enjoying the way the poems are dissected. Each podcast is the perfect length to squeeze into a busy day, just like a podcast about a poem should be. I’ve been listening while walking, but it would be a perfect podcast to listen to while cleaning a room, or if a few episodes are saved up, maybe listening during a pleasant bath.
I turned our Halloween pumpkins into pumpkin puree, and it has been making delicious pies and muffins. We have plenty in the freezer, which makes me happy about all the muffin baking that lies ahead.
I’ve been loving my newfound ability to get up really early. Go figure, as soon as everyone is distance learning/homeschooling at home and I don’t have to get up hours before the crack of dawn to make lunches and facilitate people getting ready for school, I suddenly have NO PROBLEM naturally waking up hours before dawn. Sign. I’m making good use of the early morning peaceful time, though, preparing things for the day and getting some practicing out of the way right away. It really does make things easier for the rest of the day. Unfortunately it also means I am stinking tired at the end of the day when the rest of my family is going strong.
I have new walking shoes, and the grips are not worn down, so I have been falling down less. Hooray!
