- Mr. TOF and I read a book about Venice, and I learned so many things I didn’t know about this interesting city, like how glassblowing and glassmaking has been an important part of the history of the city, and the history of the four golden horses on top of St. Mark’s Cathedral.
- I learned to make overhard eggs in a cast iron pan! I’ve actually never cooked fried eggs before. My kids can cook fried eggs, but it just always seemed overwhelming to me, so I always scrambled the eggs. Every once in a while I just want a fried egg, and this month I decided enough was enough! I researched how to best cook an overhard egg in a cast iron pan, and while I ended up giving the first three eggs I tried to a kidlet because they ended up being a little too runny for my liking, I have figured it out now! I am actually really excited.
- Mr. TOF and I also read this book about the history of the paralympics. We loved it! It was thought provoking and interesting. I hadn’t even thought about how the paralympics came to be before reading this, and it really opened my eyes to how poorly people with physical disabilities have been treated throughout history.
- In the last month I have driven on two super interesting main roads in my city that I had never driven on before because I had to go from place to place in a way that I just never had to do before. It made me smile to try something new.
- Our family learned that going camping when you aren’t allowed to have a campfire (for good reason . . . the forest is so dry!) is just . . . weird.
