Lately

We survived March! March is always a frantic month around here. Filled with music performances of all sorts, we are usually bouncing on our toes, and this March was no different. By the end of March we are all ready for a deep breath. This week we are on spring break from school, which has been a very welcome bit of down time to regroup, even though there are still things happening like baseball practice and events for Mr. TOF, and college visits and outings with friends for The Banana, along with a few piano lessons for me.
The weather has warmed up into that sloppy mixture of wet, heavy snow, mud puddles, and warmer days when snow melts and followed by another winter storm. It’s a cycle. But, the little person in my life is loving these puddle jumping days! I’m excited about longer walks with the stroller and not having to bundle up as much.
Mr. TOF is deep into baseball this season and loving it, but frustrated with an overuse arm injury that is currently in the process of healing. (We are looking ahead to some physical therapy to fix some throwing mechanics).
Peanut Maximus has been busy cooking zero calorie treats in his play kitchen. I can eat them all day long and not gain an ounce (because they are pretend!) He’s an active little guy from the moment he wakes until he goes to sleep: jumping, climbing, running . . . all the things! He’s had a language explosion over the past few weeks and it is so fun to be able to communicate on another new level and learn all the things he’s thinking. There has been so much more pretend play and focused independent play is growing too. Still, he’s my extra-extrovert, just like The Banana, and he thrives on getting as much people interaction as he possibly can!
The Banana is making final college decisions, and the choices are difficult.
There is a rabbit living under our back deck, and it has been so much fun to watch him hop around out there all winter long. Peanut Maximus loves observing him. However, I hope the rabbit finds a summer home away from my porch, where it will not feel tempted to eat my flowers.
