Watching and Waiting

Every Wednesday we wait in the cry room at church for AWANA to start, watching Sarah sing with the kids choir.  The cry room is an odd shaped little room with big windows and some comfy furniture inside.  It’s a nice place to contain my kidlets so that they aren’t distracting the singing kids, but they can still hear and see everything that is going on.  Last year there were Wednesday nights when I literally had to say to Mr. SP and The Banana, “Please stop bouncing off the walls.” They were actually physically bouncing off the walls.  It is a tough time of day, when people are so tired they have to move to stay awake, and that, coupled with cooped up winter energy was not pleasant.  Not pleasant at all.  So far this fall, everyone has been much calmer.
