Farmland Returns

When we brought down the Christmas decorations last week, we brought Farmland down from the attic as well. Farmland is an exersaucer-type baby apparatus that is a complete two decades old. Can you believe I’ve had it sitting in my attic for TWELVE years!?! After Mr. TOF outgrew it, I put it back in the attic for two reasons: there was always the possibility of our family doing foster care, and I might want to have it around if I ended up taking care of a baby, and the design of Farmland is a little different than most exersaucers you find out and about. It might be hideous and made of plastic, but because Farmland was one of those toys that was supposed to “grow” with your child, it comes apart and makes a figure 8 road for the tractor train to drive around for toddlers. We haven’t ever really used it in that capacity, but by accident, that “road” makes a perfect little circular tray to put interesting toys that can be grabbed, handled, chewed on, and of course thrown across the room when the baby gets to the throwing stage.

I scrubbed down Farmland when it came down froth attic, because it was full of twelve years of attic dust. Peanut Maximus is a fan! He loves getting to be upright for a little stretch of time, and he likes playing with the toys in the tray. Because he’s so LONG, Farmland is already set at the highest setting. This baby has some seriously long legs!

It is kind of fun that we have some baby equipment that ALL of the babies have used even though they are spread apart.
