Goop
It all started the night before when The Banana’s good friend who lives in the neighborhood came over during the spring snowstorm to bake an almond cake. They decided it would be more delicious to eat it with raspberry sauce, and I showed them the recipe and gave some brief instructions about the process before I went upstairs. About fifteen minutes later The Banana came up with a bowl of cornstarch and said, “Is this really right? 2-3 cups of cornstarch?” Of course it wasn’t right. I had mistakenly written cups instead of tablespoons! Gracious! We laughed so hard!
They started the recipe over, and I told them to save all that cornstarch to make goop for Peanut Maximus to play with the next day. Since that happened to be our third snow day in a row, goop was a perfect afternoon activity.
There was dripping and pouring and pushing with spoons.
The Banana got a little carried away and intentionally dripped a bit of goop on his head. He was clearly unimpressed. In fact, he had a medium sized temper tantrum about it. Siblings!
Mr. TOF got in on the action as well at the end, although I don’t have images. The Banana poured some goop on his head as well, and it also wasn’t taken well. He was terribly grouchy! To make matters worse, she zipped up to the shower first, and he had to wait to clean up. Good times!
By the end cornstarch was predictably all over the kitchen and it had been tracked into numerous other rooms as well, but clean up was not as bad as I anticipated, and really, did we have anything better to do on a snow day?
