The Rhododendron is Blooming

It’s become an annual tradition to take a few portraits of The Banana when the rhododendron blooms. The bush grows more astonishing every year, with all of its fluffy purple goodness. It is so ridiculously glorious that a kindergarten piano student walked in on Monday and asked, “Are the flowers on that tree real or fake?” It would seem like something so amazing would be fake, but those flowers are indeed for real. Last year we planted four more bushes to replace some juniper bushes that were casualties of heavy snow, and i can’t wait for them to grow. Three are in front of the house, and one is back by my purple hammock.
