Although The Banana and Mr. TOF are back at school, I am enjoying the last few days of my holiday break before I jump into my full teaching schedule again next week. I’m taking care of a few cleaning projects and catching up on computer work.
The Banana is busy practicing Mozart, Bach and Vitali for upcoming performances and college scholarship auditions.
Mr. TOF spent most of his break practicing with the swim team, and he has a big meet on Saturday. It’s fun to watch him get better and better, and I’m looking forward to it.
I’m learning a Chopin etude that I’m really excited about and a couple of smaller pieces by Bach and Granados, in addition to accompaniments for The Banana’s violin.
The Devious Snail is home from college for a few more weeks. Wahoo!
After not being able to fit cello practice into my life and then not being motivated for months, I am back to practicing the cello! Hooray! Day two of practicing was better than day one. You have to start somewhere to break a negative practice cycle, right?
After Barnes and Nobles didn’t have the poetry book I was hoping to get when the Kidlets and I went to the store earlier this week, I went on an online book shopping spree and used up all my gift cards. I’m pretty excited about a big box of books that should be arriving in the next couple of days! A lot of the books were a bit more obscure, and not something that a store has in stock for the most part.
The weather turned cold the past couple of days and it looks to stay that way for a bit, but at least the streets are mostly devoid of ice and I can walk pretty easily.
The Banana, Mr. TOF and I are looking forward to a trip to Colorado to visit YaYa! I’ve never been to a ski resort in the winter and I’m excited about the adventure. Planes! Trains! Mountains! Also, I can’t wait for all that reading time during different modes of transportation!
