Recently Learned

  • At the piano I am still working on the Rachmaninoff prelude that is my 100 day practice project, and I’m learning Bach’s Fugue in C sharp minor from the Well Tempered Clavier, along with a short piece by Albeniz.
  • I’m plugging my way through the first book of harp music. I am enjoying playing the harp and learning to coordinate my hands, but the hand positions still feel so, so awkward and impossible to figure out. I can’t wait for The Banana to come back for the summer so I can listen to HER playing the harp.
  • Two new words I learned courtesy of solving the Wordle: carom and toady.
  • If you forget about the honey jar you are reconstituting and all the water evaporates in the pot while the honey boils itself to death, you will be left with honey as hard as a rock and quite possibly a pan that is incredibly scorched.
  • I learned how to use my new, small steam cleaner.
