Awana Grand Prix

For the past week, Dr. Peds has been working and working and working down in the basement, fine tuning YaYa and Mr. SP’s cars for the Awana Grand Prix that took place this morning at church.  Mr. SP designed a triangular car painted like an Eagle.  YaYa, always one to think outside the box, designed an amazing sleigh bed on wheels.  She was the only bed on wheels entered in the Grand Prix.  You might have guessed that.  It was a morning filled with excitement.  I was more than a little worried how Mr. SP might take being eliminated, but he handled it like a champ.  He was only a bit disappointed and stayed in control of his emotions the whole time!  He’s growing up all the time, and I was so proud of him not getting really upset.  YaYa’s bed actually won her first heat, but lost the second.  It was still one fast bed on wheels.  I love the way my girl thinks.

You can see Mr. SP’s car on the right lane in this picture, off to a great start.  The wheels were a little wobbly, which slowed it down at the end of the track.
