Last Saturday in the Back Yard

First of all, let me start by telling you how the weather was amazing last weekend, so amazing that snow, and we didn’t have a lot to begin with, was melting like crazy.  It was so beautiful that it was simply a shame to be inside, and to have something to do out there, Dr. Peds ended up actually shoveling snow from our neighbor’s yard over to our yard to fill in bare patches of grass and make an icy sledding run on a very gentle slope off to the back, side edge of our yard.  It wasn’t much, but then again since we haven’t had very many sledding experiences this year, it was enough to keep people busy sliding for several hours.

We invited our neighbors up the hill, and although the big kidlets had a few squabbles, (mostly my big kidlets squabbling with each other about everything under the sun, including who owned the snow) The Banana had a great time playing with her little pal (who happens to be one of my favorite kids in existence . . . she’s a piece of work, that girl!) The Banana just loves friends.  She loves friends of all sizes and in all places.  EVERY SINGLE DAY she asks me at least once, “Can I have a play date with someone today, Mama?”  The curious thing about The Banana is that she doesn’t get tired of being with her friends, either.  She really is a people person down to the bottom of her toes.  People do not exhaust her like they sometimes do to me and to YaYa and Mr. SP and even Dr. Peds.  People energize this girl.  People bring her joy.
