Family Bike Time

After a long and luxurious afternoon nap for the whole family, this Father's Day, Dr. Peds dismantled the training wheels off of Sarah's bike (after two summers of being terrified of her bike, she has grown very brave with it this spring) and installed a handle over the back tire to save his back as he helped her learn to balance more independently.  While Daddy was working hard with his wrenches, The Banana decided that she and Mr. Sneaky Pants should do some fixing on the small bike, and Mr. Sneaky Pants took her up on the good idea (a rare event).

Mr. Sneaky Pants was really out of sorts that Sarah did not have training wheels and he did. He was very upset that he couldn't be just like Sarah anymore, but when we all got to the top of our little hill and he saw the vast (to him) space of the Montessori Preschool parking lot, he forgot all about the training wheels and was terribly excited to be the fastest bike rider in the family.
Sarah did great! There were even some times when she was able to ride without Dr. Peds holding onto the handle (a nifty invention) and Dr. Peds got his workout running after the bike!

The Banana gravitated between running to all corners of the parking lot, pushing and hauling her little foot bike, and coercing Daddy to do some more fixing with those gleaming wrenches.
