Folding the Laundry

For years and years and years, nearly every time I fold my laundry I have had a preschooler around to help hand me hangers as I get all of my shirts ready to hang in the closet.  Being in charge of the hangers was The Banana’s favorite job, and Mr. TOF is following in her footsteps.  Both of them have loved to choose which hanger is the next hanger I should use as I wade through that big pile of laundry, putting things back in my closet.

On this day Mr. TOF was my assistant, and The Banana happened to be home as well.  When she walked in my room and saw the hangers, her face lit up and we reminisced about all those years before kindergarten when she was the hanger assistant.  After all the clothes were in the closet, there were miraculously a few extra hangers.  This doesn’t happen often, because there never seem to be enough hangers to get all the clean clothes in the closet at once, but I’m in the middle of a laundry crisis (again) and there probably weren’t as many clean clothes as usual.  The Banana and Mr. TOF spent a long time pretending the hangers were skis.  It made me giggle.
