Swimming in Amity Creek

You might recall that we spent our first day of summer vacation at Amity Creek.  In the early part of the summer we went to this magnificent spot a couple of different times, but we haven’t been back for weeks.  When I asked the kidlets which things they would like to make sure we do before school starts, swimming at Amity Creek was at the top of their list, and we managed to make it happen earlier this week.  We even brought along a couple friends to join in the mayhem.  Or maybe they brought us.  I’m not sure.  I do know that there was a lot of swimming up and downstream, climbing and hanging on willow branches that reach out over the water, and a great deal of scrambling up, down, and across the rocks.  Mr. SP likes sliding down the rocks in the current the best, and he also had a lot of fun ducking behind a curtain of water underneath a rock on the final cascade before the water reaches a little pool.   Really, who needs a water park when you have a creek?
