The Middles and Their Parents Take a Short Hike at Hartley

Last Thursday and Friday there was no school.  On Thursday, Mr. Trouble on Feet actually did have preschool, but the other kids were home, and Dr. Peds was mostly home except for a few meetings at work.  I had canceled preschool music classes that day because it’s tricky when there is no school. YaYa was bent on sleeping in, but  after teaching my early morning Thursday piano students, I bribed my middle kids to come hiking with me with donuts at the Lakeside Bakery.  Dr. Peds decided to brave another hike with me, too.  We dropped Mr. TOF off at school and ate out delicious treats at the bakery before heading to Hartley to hike to Lookout Mountain.   He still loves this sweatshirt. At the top of the hill is a great tree with a wonderful branch for climbing.  Dr. Peds helped with middles up and then climbed up himself.  He had to hang on tight, because the wind was really blowing, and the branch was swaying a lot.  I love how the branch dips before it rises up.  There was a lot of silliness on this hike.  I don’t even remember the last time both of us parents got to spend time with both middle kids.  It was such an interesting combination, and we had a lot of fun.
