Big and Little: Across a Decade

Big Cousin is helping Little Cousin make a bracelet.  The little cousin is wearing hand-me-down pajamas that, a decade ago, were the big cousin’s prize for successful potty training.  She and I both have vivid memories of making a special trip to Wausau, Wisconsin, to pick those pajamas out at Kohls.  She sat in the aisle for an hour debating which nightgown and which big girl underwear she would like for her prize.  Not only is it a blessing to get hand-me-downs for my own kids, but it is really fun to see clothes with special memories appear on my dear nieces and nephews.
