About Watermelon
I like watermelon, I just don’t like cutting watermelon. I don’t like cutting cantaloupe or honeydew either. It just feels like a tedious, messy task. My kids love watermelon, though, and when you add in a few neighbor kids, I can assure you that they can consume a couple of watermelons in absolutely no time flat. It’s actually a bit astonishing how fast the watermelon slices disappear.
This year I’m pretty excited, because I just realized that Mr. SP can cut watermelon. In fact, running the sharp watermelon slicing knife is something that he really enjoys. He ASKS to cut watermelon. Since I don’t have to cut it myself, I’m a lot more apt to purchase watermelon, which makes everyone around here very happy.
My imaginative kidlets can find a lot of uses for watermelon rinds. Like Dory Fantasamagory’s banana telephone, this girl connects with the world through her watermelon cell phone.
This boy looks good in a watermelon hat.
Instead of that artistic masterpiece “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” we have “Boy with a Slice of Watermelon.”
