Summer
Woo hoo! Summer has started for us! I used to be a summer-hating kid, but now that I’m a mom, I love it more and more every single year! I have been waiting for the start of summer the entire school year, because our family schedule this last year was difficult. I’m greatly looking forward to the next few months with long daylight filled days and a lot more margin in the schedule. The past couple of summers we have had a terrific balance between things to do and down time with nothing to do, and I am crossing my fingers that this summer will be similar.
The hammocks have been hung under the apple tree (Mr. TOF calls it a hammock club back there). We have a gigantic stack of books from the library, and an even bigger stack of things to read from the annual used library book sale. A plan has been put in place so that people hopefully will be practicing their instruments throughout the day instead of leaving everything to the last minute right before bed. Neighborhood Night Games have begun. The grass is green. The flowers have been planted. It’s good!
