Spending Time with Cousins

While we were in North Dakota we headed to Bismarck to spend an afternoon with cousins.  We suited up and headed straight for the swimming pool after a quick stop for a plastic covering for The Banana’s special boot on her broken foot.  Unfortunately the plastic covering got a hole in it after about ten minutes, which was very disappointing for her, but she handled watching really well.  Everyone else spent a maniacal three hours in swimming bliss.  They had SO MUCH fun.

After swimming we got pizza and headed to Universal Park in Mandan, where my brother joined us.  The enormous playground is filled with all sorts of very unique adaptive play equipment designed to bring kids of all disabilities and diagnoses together in a play environment.  It was a terrific place, full of all sorts of unique contraptions to explore.  No one wanted to leave when it was time to go.

This was a super fun game unlike anything I’ve ever seen at a park before.  You could play with multiple people on teams, or just two people against each other.  Mr. SP and I squared off.  I knocked his socks off!  Well, OK, I might have beat him by one measly little point, but I’m claiming it.
