This Christmas
This Christmas my grocery lists have been written bilingually.
I hear carols hummed and sung in two different languages.
We got to see two sisters over the moon excited about an enormous Christmas light display.
I actually managed to take a picture of all the kids dressed up on Christmas Eve together in one frame (I can’t post it here, though).
During Christmas Eve church service, a wonderful nativity was drawn right next to me in a sketch book, and the candles burned brightly in tiny hands during “Silent Night.”
There was a sleeping extravaganza under the Christmas tree, followed by a very early party under the tree at 4:30 a.m. By 5:00 a.m. all the presents were sorted, but we held off opening them until 9:00 a.m. Breakfast cereal in Christmas stockings was a huge hit, and the Christmas excitement was at unmeasurable levels. Really. I’ve never seen anything like it.
I took a little nap under the tree in the afternoon on Christmas Day.
There were fun skypes to extended family far away.
It was good.
