Genetic Orthodontics

She inherited her front teeth from me.  These new front teeth are exactly, EXACTLY like my front teeth, with the exception that my front teeth actually sprang out to each side at about a 45 degree angle.  They were sooooo super crooked and I had such a terrible overbite (I would eat an apple and bite into the skin on the roof of my mouth) that I had braces the summer before fourth grade.  Braces at a young age turned out to be a good thing, because I had them out of my mouth and was done with the whole affair by the middle of sixth grade.  In seventh grade I dropped my retainer down my great aunt's garbage disposal.  I was in big trouble.  And then in eighth grade I wrapped my retainer in a napkin and accidentally threw it away.  I was in bigger trouble.  I knew that things were not going to be good when my mother found out, and I desperately tried to search through all of the garbage bins, but had no luck.

I think what I'm saying, is that I had better start saving now to cover the impending orthodontic expenses that are probably coming my way, if not from this child, then from her siblings.

This girl is just you all over again, I love this picture, brings back so much. And yes I was kind of preturbed when you threw the retainer away in the napkin. Maybe you will have to buy some cows now, we traded a couple of registerd cows to the orthodontist to pay for your braces. What a hoot.
