The Banana Plays Soccer

The Banana decided she’d like to try playing soccer this summer, so we signed her up.  Soccer is kind of a big deal here, and there are some people who have kids who practically play soccer the whole year through because they are in special leagues.  We are just doing soccer for the month of August. It works out because it’s summer.  We didn’t really know how the experience would be, since she hasn’t ever played soccer before, and a lot of kids start playing when they are really small, but it’s going great, and she likes it a lot more than even she though she would.  Her team is pretty low key, and her coaches are really kind, which is a great combination.  We are happy to have her running around chasing the soccer ball.  Actually, she really likes playing goalie, and she does a good job in that position.  Unfortunately, however, she broke/sprained a finger last week going for a ball that was in the middle of a bunch of moving soccer cleats.  The finger is taped and healing.
