A Crazy Start to Summer

School ended!  The next day we drove to the cabin to retrieve Cousin Alex for a 5 day “Camp Aunt Rachel.”  It was a busy adventure, and I have some images I will share soon.  We drove back to the cabin for a few hours of lake fun with the other small cousins and to take Alex back to Auntie Dot.  Back in Duluth late at night, we spent the next day taking care of loose ends around the house.  The next day was a packing day, followed by a two day trip to North Dakota to drop off Mr. SP at music camp.  I arrived home late at night and hopped on a plane for Chicago 6 hours later to pick our P143 host child up.   We spent one night in a hotel, followed by one night in the airport when our flight, along with hundreds of others, got cancelled and there were no hotels available.  Crazy!  We finally got on a standby flight to the Cities and Dr. Peds picked us up from that airport instead.

So, it’s been a bit of an adventurous summer so far!  But it’s been good.  We are excited to have our host child back for the summer.  I know it will be a summer filled with a thousand beautiful moments.  We’ve had many already.  There are certain requirements about what I can and cannot post here about our experiences, and although every day might not be a perfectly smooth day, I am certain that once again we will grow as people, and there will be hundreds of amazing things about our summer.
